Umpier

After building a bunch of prototypes and small projects, I finally took on something bigger. Umpier.
This was my first end toend SaaS project, designed for turf owners to manage and streamline their bookings.
It had everything a solid SaaS app in this space needed: analytics, a booking dashboard, customer management, multi-user access, revenue management, subscription based recurring payments, and even a smooth user onboarding flow. Basically, if a turf owner wanted to ditch the manual work, Umpier was built to handle it all.
The plan? Build it, sell it, and scale it. I pitched it to a few clients, but after a few meetings, reality hit! The market wasn’t ready. Turf owners weren’t really looking for a digital solution. they preferred their old school paper and pen system.
So, I made the call to discontinue it. Tough decision? Yeah. But also a valuable lesson in product market fit. Umpier was a fully functional, well built system, but sometimes, the best built product isn’t enough if the market isn’t ready for it.
Still, no regrets. This project pushed me to think beyond just development into business, sales, and real world adoption. And that’s a win in itself.
